As usual, I am paying more attention to rules for new cars only when I start building them.

Relative to the raised wheel on FWU cars and SR Pro, I see two issues.

1) Why should the FWU NDFW wheel weight be specified for the wheel with bearings installed ? (Who wants to put bearings in a raised wheel ...) Can we just have a 1.6g weight limit (or so) for any raised wheel ?

2) Why should the SR Pro (at least) wheels be restricted to BSA wheels ? I am mostly concerned with all the existing SRs which have been customized with PineCar raised wheels. Its going to be a real pain converting to BSA wheels in these positions.

If I am reading the rules incorrectly or not up to date with any recent changes, I apologize.

BUT, what about using PineCar wheels in the SR Pro class ? Why restrict to BSA only ?

I never realized it was BSA. I thought I'd seen PineCar NDFWs in SR.

I think there are many PineCar wheels used as NDFWs in SR. At issue is the SR Pro rules which clearly say "BSA" for wheels.

I know originally Joel wanted the wheels in SR Pro to be the same as FW Unlimited.... That is why it is what it is.... Since we haven't ran SR Pro yet I suppose it could be changed... Joel's call there...

And I should have read the SR Pro rules. I just assumed everything would be the same as SR with the exception of the touching wheels allowing for bearings and their weight. That's how it should be, in my opinion.

Mario mentioned the conversion hassle, and to be honest, I had hoped to be able to "hot swap" wheels and axles in order to use the same car in both SR classes.

The Street Rod Pro rules have been opened up to include BSA, Maximum Velocity, Awana & Pinecar wheels.

All wheels regardless of manufacturer must still meet all other rules, including weight (1.5 grams) and width (7.5mm).
