Some thoughts on some of the 2021 season rule changes
- Allowing 3D printed chassis is good. Perhaps we will see some really competitive new designs.
- Hopefully the new Scout Class will expose more racers to league racing.
- I would have liked to see the BASX wheel rule loosened up a bit to allow different brands of wheels to be used as long as they meet the size and weight rules.
- SP… this is one class that I use to like to race. But since no vendors sell drilled axles to mount the reversed wheel air deflectors to them, it’s almost impossible to be competitive without them. This is one of the original NPWDRL classes that should be saved. The rules should be looked at and adjusted to try to increase participation rather than just getting rid of it because no one is racing in it.
- I would have liked to see a spec class using MV wheels, axles and a car body. The Spec Truck fun class didn’t seem to go over too well. Maybe it was the truck body or the coated axles or that it only raced once and is not part of MOTM that no one wanted to race it. Perhaps with a car body, plated MV axles and the 1.5g MV wheels more guys would try it out.
I know I was kind of negative on some of the comments I made on wheel changes. Hopefully we can all post some positive comments on 2021 season rule changes.
