Alphonso Peluso AKA 'The Fonze' has been racing in
the leagues since 2016. He was bitten by the pinewood
derby bug after he and his son entered their first
scout pinewood derby race. Alphonso is an Architect
and College Professor who's work is centered around
3D Printing. All of his derby cars are 3D Printed and
he was the first racer to build 3D Printed Cars.
He spent 2 years perfecting his 3D Printed Car Bodies.
In 2018 he became the first racer to win the Man of
the Mountain with a 3D Printed Car when he won the
Unlimted Championship. You can now purchase the same
car bodies that Alphonso has perfected over the years.

2022 NPWDRL Schedule
Scout Class, BASX Am, BASX Pro, Street Stock, Street Pro,
Eliminator, Unlimited, BASX Bearing, BASX Mini,
Mid America, Spec Truck, Street Rod, & Street Rod Bracket
will be run at every Ice and Fire Series Race.
April or May will be Pinewood Derby Nationals.
Both the ICE and FIRE Series are MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN
WORLD FINALS Qualifier Series. (See the information below
regarding qualifying for the MOTM WORLD FINALS).
ICE & FIRE SERIES MONTHLY FORMAT INFORMATION
The standard monthly race format will consist of a PRELIMINARY
a FINALS round. The PRELIMINARY round will be all cars grouped
together in each class to run total of four passes down the track,
once in each lane. The top 4 builders will move onto the FINALS
round for an additional four passes down the track, once in each
lane. Additionally, if a car is within 0.0015sec of the first place car, then
it will also make the finals. If a class has less than 10 cars there
will not be a FINALS round.
ICE & FIRE SERIES POINTS INFORMATION
The ICE & FIRE Series are “POINTS” only series that will each
be raced for THREE months. You will earn points in each of the 11
MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN classes that you race in each month. The 11
MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN classes are BASX Pro, Street Stock, Street Pro,
Eliminator, Unlimited, BASX Bearing, BASX Mini,
Mid America, Spec Trucks, Street Rod, & Street Rod Bracket.
Points for the ICE Series will be accumulated February,
March, & June (Nationals not included in ICE Series).
Points for the FIRE Series will be accumulated July
August, & September.
Point Structure for each MOTM race in the ICE & FIRE Series: 1st-100, 2nd-90,
3rd-85, 4th-82, 5th-80, 6th-79 and so on down to 1 point.
BASX AM & PRO points will be ran together and the Point
Structure will be as follows: The Pro class will be given points
first: 1st-100, 2nd-90, 3rd-85, 4th-82, 5th-80, 6th-79
and so on in 1 point increments down to the last BASX
PRO Racer, then the 1st place BASX AM racer will earn
the next points after the last BASX PRO racer and the
rest of the BASX AM racers will earn points, in 1 point
increments, down to the last BASX AM racer.
Points winners (after June race for ICE Series and after
September race for FIRE Series) in each of the 11 MOTM classes
in the ICE & FIRE Series earn an automatic bid into the FINAL round
in the MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN WORLD FINALS in November

QUALIFIED AND NON-QUALIFIED RACES AT THE
MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN WORLD FINALS
Qualified races will be ran in the 11 MOTM Classes;
BASX Pro, Street Stock, Street Pro, Eliminator, Unlimited,
BASX Bearing, BASX Mini, Mid America, Spec Trucks,
Street Rod, & Street Rod Bracket
Non-Qualified races will be ran in Scout Class & BASX Am.
Everybody is invited to race in the NON-QUALIFIED race classes!
No need to QUALIFY or race during the season in the NON-QUALIFIED
classes to race at the November Race.
Non-Qualified races will follow the standard monthly race format
including a PRELIMINARY and FINALS race in each class
QUALIFYING FOR THE MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN WORLD FINALS
Qualifying Points for the MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN WORLD FINALS
are a total of ALL the points earned in BOTH the ICE & FIRE Series
monthly races in 2022. This includes points from races in February,
March, June, July, August, & September.
Additional factors taken into account when qualifying for the MAN OF THE
MOUNTAIN WORLD FINALS are the points winners of both of
the ICE & FIRE Series.
The following MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN WORLD FINALS round
information is true for all Qualified classes:
QUARTER FINAL ROUND
Builders with less than 50% (in total points of ICE & FIRE Series
(added together), but at least 1 point qualify for the QUARTER
FINAL round. Only the winning car from the QUARTER FINAL
round moves onto the SEMIFINALS
SEMI-FINALS ROUND
All builders in the top 50% (in total points of the ICE & FIRE
Series added together) and the winner from the QUARTER FINAL
round qualify for the SEMI-FINALS. Four builders from
the SEMI-FINAL round move onto the FINALS. This will
include any cars from the top 3 builders that are faster than the
4th place car.
FINALS ROUND
The ICE & FIRE Series Points Champion and the top 4 builders
from the SEMIFINAL round qualify for the FINALS. The FINALS will
consist of 5 or 6 builders because it is possible than one builder wins
both the ICE & FIRE Series and takes up 2 spots in the FINALS.
MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN WORLD FINALS
OVERALL CHAMPION SCORING
The Top 6 builders in each class that make it to the Finals will score points
in the 11 MOTM scoring classes (1st-10, 2nd-7, 3rd-5, 4th-4, 5th-3 & 6th-2)
Out of the 11 MOTM classes only a builder’s highest 5 scoring MOTM classes
will be used to determine the
MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN OVERALL WORLD CHAMPION!!
In the event of a tie, the tie breaker will be the # of total class wins.
If still tied, the tie breaker will be the # of total class 2nd place finishes.
And so on and so on until we have a winner.
