I've been thinking on this for a while. Only thing I could really come up with was to pitch the idea of local racing to someplace like the local science center. Every major city has one, they have the room, and the physics of PWD should provide teachable lessons to young people as well as attract adults to race? Advertise for the various leagues at the events and hold several leading up to and through scout racing season? I tried pitching the idea to the local makerspace but they said they already do a robot battle type thing and that was enough for them. Our BSA district made a half attempt at starting up a race involving all the auto related businesses in the area but they set the entry fee crazy high per car and it met with great resistance. I might still try that on my own, the dealership I work at holds a couple car shows each year, the one in May would be ideal for a race to benefit a local charity. I'd keep the entry fee lower to encourage more participation though.

I am also considering a multi track senerio...say The Gauntlet of at least three styles of tracks and hills.... average heat times...winner takes all. But it takes input. Don't be shy. I am working on a test set of build rules and race description. All help is welcome.

No retunes, no repairs, no set staging, no ringers....race for the sake of the race.

Gravity race. No motors or springs if it isn't gravity it goes to the compactor. Magnets....hmmmmm...ok whatever. Just don't be over 12 oz weight. Don't be longer than 12" ... Dont have more than 12 wheels....I don't care where you put them or what angle.
Track deminsions will be part of rules...figure it out.
No rough bottoms. No loose or fragile, lol. No shedding anything. No hazmat.
