Race #4 is quickly approaching. Race date is Sept. 3rd with a start time of noon.(MST) We made some upgrades and changes to quality of the display and feed, in doing so it's going to require more bandwidth so please keep me informed of any drops in feed or issues. Friday night around 7pm MST I will turn the feed on for a few hours to see how it reacts.

I have added some wheel cavity air deflectors to my SS car BeeDeedleOh. Hopefully I can find some more speed there and improve on my times from the last race.

But as I have mentioned in other posts my focus has been on the BASX class and improving my race times there. I've gone back to a 3 step polish, wax and buff system on my wheels that is a very repeatable system. So you can basically say I am using Kinser's "KISS" rule in prepping everything on my BASX cars, racing against my times from the last race and trying to beat them.

Did you sell a car to an am class racer? Skywalker bought a car and races it in the pros. If you're going to race pro you better be prepared to put on your big boy pants. It's no mystery that I have been mentoring him. He only races his own built and preped cars in the am class.

I told my wife that I can not wait until I am fast enough to be accused of cheating! I will say that I am also a graduate of the Kinser mentoring program. I have said it before but once again that is the best money I have ever spent on this hobby. The greatest thing he has taught me is to keep trying different things and so far I am still having those "ah ha" moments and getting faster. I will say again if anyone is buying a car to run in the AM series they are suckers! I have checked into buying a car for testing but the prices are way to high in my book for something that will only be slightly faster than what I can build. My advice to anyone wanting to buy a car to race against AM is to pay that money to Kinser and learn how to be competitive so that you will have a lot more fun and a long life in this hobby.

There was an Am class when I first started racing and the buying and selling cars was constantly being debated. I've come to learn sometime ago that if you buy a car for the sheer purposes of winning, most will not be able to maintain that for a sustained period of time and will soon leave. When the Am class was finally eliminated, all of that chatter stopped, regardless of who was buying/selling cars. That being said, it did not matter to me; I just wanted to race with the best cars that could be put on the track and shortly thereafter, I chose to start racing pro.

I will say this - it was nice to see the Am class brought back to life and watch those racers compete. Keep it up and continue building the camaraderie to I see developing!
