Legit Sub 2.9 BASX PRO. Can it be achived ?

I was thinking 2.9435, which would round me up to option A.

I'm sure the NASA engineers from the sixties thought with enough resources they could land a rocket upright. In fact the physics are same now as they were then, what stopped them wasn't the vision or physics, but the resources devoted to the space program.

Conversely, what will stop a BASX car from ever breaking 2.900 aren't resources or technology, but physics.

IMO 2.900 is out of the question, as are breaking 2.910 and 2.920. Breaking 2.930 is extremely unlikely, most likely still impossible, while breaking 2.940 seems possible in the next few years.

Aight den, back to the diagram I accompanied that MoJo wasn’t to keen about. The thing he didn’t key on was the coefficients of roll dynamics. A racer on this forum and myself have discussed this privately. A little adjustment in just 1 coefficient has already put an a## whuppin on every legend in the field at least once the past months. Every coefficient is relative, including aero, to a 5oz 7 x 1 3/4” car just as in a 3200 lb stock car. Of that I’m convinced. Not saying this is the answer because it’s already been explored. When Don Gartlis showed up with his first rear engine dragster with a wing every racer in the pits scoffed. He told them by the end of this season anyone in the hunt for the championship will have one of these. So perhaps there’s an aero secret that is still hiding within the aero matrix.

The thing MJ did key on was a car under the dynamic of steer and it’s basically a mute point. The way I understand these little 5 oz prima donnas is you build a car to roll straight then tune it to steer. With this knowledge base this has probably been regurgitated over and over but I’d like to know if anyone has explored building a car that, by design has steer built in then tune from there ? I find that interesting.

Since I build my cars with a right side DFW, a racer told me once to slow roll a new build on three straight axles and if the car drifted right, just throw it away OR convert it to a left side DFW and make sure it still drifts right on three straight axles. I didn’t care to mix lefties and righties so I discard the ones that don’t fly right.

I’d be curious to know how extensive the racer explored a drifting builds potential speed. Or if he just assumed it had no merit simply because it didn’t roll straight with straight axles. That’s what I meant by the current way of thinking may have caused certain issues that can’t be cured the way we currently think.. I’m not certain we yet understand how much speed is actually left in the table. It’s a worthy pursuit.
