So I'm working trying my hand at a couple street rod entries for May's big Street Rod race.

Here is the first one I'm tinkering with. It's a 1/24 scale Tamiya Toyota GT-One.

I wasn't sure how to approach the chassis so I tried to 3d print something to just mock it up. I'm thinking a wood chassis might be a bit easier.

Anyone have a suggestions. Am I headed in the right direction so far?

The chassis seems too heavy but a lot of redesign and weight can come out. (With wheels it is about 1.7oz)

Still havent decided on how to attached it. Thinking maybe some balsa on the perimeter and two sided tape or super glue a balsa standoff and use a small screw.
