Hey Everybody!!
2018! What a year!! Congrats to all the racers at the NPWDRL for a great year of racing and friendship! Rookie of the Year poll will go up this week and the 2019 schedule will be up soon.
It will take me the rest of December to update this and the NPWDRL.com site, but I wanted to quickly list the changes for 2019 so everybody could get working on their 2019 cars.

We put up a poll to let you, the NPWDRL racers, decide whether we should allow any body material in every class or just in Unlimited & FWU. Please take a moment and vote HERE.
All classes: car weight has to be 143.4 grams or under on a 1/10th scale
If you build a car that you would like to race that does not fit into any class. I.E. full wood carved car body's in the Street Rod class. We will allow the car to race but no points or position will be awarded to a car found not conforming to the rules. If you has a car you would like to race that is like this please contact us before it races.
2019 NON MOTM Point Classes and Rule Changes:
BASX Am- No change
Rule Clarification for 2019, wood must be used to construct your body and/or frame.
Box Stock- No change
Rule Clarification for 2019, wood must be used to construct your body and/or frame.
Both of these classes will race every month and will receive monthly awards, but no point standings of their own.
2019 Monthly MOTM Class Races and Points:
All (9) classes will be ran every month and all will carry point values for placement at the MOTM World Finals in December.
The top (4) builders in each class in each class will move onto the monthly finals in each class. If a class has less than 10 cars there will not be a finals round. Additionally for 2019, if a car(s) is outside of the top 4 racers, but is with-in .0015 of the top car in the prelims, that car(s) will also move into the finals.
After each Ice & Fire Series race points will be awarded as follows: 1st-100, 2nd-90, 3rd-85, 4th-82, 5th-80, 6th-79, 7th-78, ECT.
2019 Badges and Awards:
Each of the (9) classes will have a monthly winner, ICE & FIRE Series points winner and a MOTM World Finals Champion all which will receive a badge added to their NPWDRL profile.
Top (3) racers in each of the (9) classes will receive an award at every race (i.e. paint stick, framed lexan personized plaque or some other cool award from Derby Evolution)
Track record will be reset for 2019 and record holders will receive a badge added to their NPWDRL profile which will be indexed for multiple records in same class (same as last year).
Rookie of the Year award will receive a badge added to their NPWDRL profile.
Top (3) racers in each of the (2) Non MOTM classes will receive an award at every race.
How to qualify for the MOTM world finals.
The MOTM World Finals will be broken down into 3 rounds in each class. Here's how you qualify.
NOTE: No drop score from either the Ice or Fire Series this year.
Quarter Finals- Builders in the bottom 50% of points (Ice & Fire Series added together), but at least 1 point qualify for the Quarter Final round. Only the winning car from the Quarter Final round moves into the Semi-Final round.
Semi-Finals- Builders in the top 50% of points (Ice & Fire Series added together), qualify for the Semi-Final round. Four builders from the Semi Final round will move into the Final round. This includes any cars from the top 3 builders that are faster than the 4th place car.
Finals- The points winners of the Ice & Fire series automatically qualify for the MOTM World Finals. They will meet the other 4 builders from the Semi's to determine the World Champion. (It is possible for one racer to take both spots.)
Also, if a racer makes the Finals by winning the Ice/Fire Series points championship, but elects to run in the Semi-Finals then their position in the finals will be offered to the second place Ice/Fire series racer. If the second place finisher also elects to run in the Semi-Finals then an additional racer will be moved into the Final round from the Semi-Final round.
MOTM Overall Champion scoring:
FOR THE MOTM WORLD FINALS OVERALL CHAMPION YOU WILL ONLY RECEIVE POINTS FOR YOUR 5 HIGHEST POINTS EARNING CLASSES. You can qualify and compete in as many or few of the 9 classes as you wish, but you will only receive points for your top 5 classes.
Additionally the Overall Champion point value for each class will be weighted depending on how many total entries are in each class at the MOTM World Finals.
Standard Overall Champion scoring is the same as it is now:
1st – 10 points
2nd – 7 points
3rd – 5 points
4th – 4 points
5th – 3 points
6th – 2 points
If the class has:
1-6 builders total at the MOTM World Finals the above points are each REDUCED by 2 points
7-14 builders at the MOTM World Finals the above points stay the same
15 and up builders at the MOTM World Finals the above points are each INCREASED by 2 points
