We have been listening and are making a few changes for the 2019 Season.
These changes should address everybody’s comments and concerns and still make it a fair race series for everybody no matter what type of build is your specialty.
(9) 2019 MOTM Classes:
BASX Am/Pro
BASX Mini
Street Stock
Street Pro
Mid America
Eliminator
Unlimited
FWU
Street Rod
All (9) classes will be ran every month and all will carry point values for placement at the MOTM World Finals in December
Each of the (9) classes will have an ICE & FIRE Series points and race winner and a MOTM World Finals Champion.
FOR THE MOTM WORLD FINALS OVERALL CHAMPION YOU WILL ONLY RECEIVE POINTS FOR YOUR 5 HIGHEST POINTS EARNING CLASSES. You can qualify and compete in as many or few of the 9 classes as you wish, but you will only receive points for your top 5 classes.
Additionally the Overall Champion point value for each class will be weighted depending on how many total entries are in each class at the MOTM World Finals.
Standard Overall Champion scoring is the same as it is now:
1st – 10 points
2nd – 7 points
3rd – 5 points
4th – 4 points
5th – 3 points
6th – 2 points
If the class has:
1-6 builders total at the MOTM World Finals the above points are each REDUCED by 2 points
7-14 builders at the MOTM World Finals the above points stay the same
15 and up builders at the MOTM World Finals the above points are each INCREASED by 2 points
So for example if you win Street Rod and there are 5 builders entered, you would receive 8 points toward your MOTM World Final Overall Champion tally and if you get 2nd in BASX and there are 18 builders entered, you would receive 9 points toward your MOTM World Final Overall Champion tally.
The Schedule will be the same as this year with a five race Ice Series, five race Fire Series and the MOTM World Finals in December. April will again be an off/break month
The Qualifying positions for the MOTM World Finals would be the same as it is this year, race in round bottom 50% points- one racer moves on, Quarters top 50% - 4 builders move on, Semis monthly winners – 4 builders move on, Finals – Ice & Fire Series Champions. All points from every month through November will be used for MOTM World Finals qualifying.
Although it is impossible to police/inspect correctly, the Box Stock class will remain and be a Non-MOTM class. Box Stock will be ran every month and will still have monthly trophies.
If you have any questions let us know in this thread or in a PM. We want to hear what you have to say and want to provide a fair, fun and enjoyable environment!
