Noah took 2nd place overall, but his track records give him his 10% off.

I'd like to give a public shout out to Ballistic Racing for helping Noah in his time of need.

Noah's car showed up overweight with no putty to remove and all of his weight glued in (I do not recommend this - especially at the Scout level). Many race officials would have DQ'd him or torn his car to pieces trying to get the weight out. Bob took the time to call the guy, explain the situation, and get the okay to perform surgery. He then began carefully removing strategic portions of fender weight to get the car to juuuuust squeak through without negatively impacting his aero.

Little did he know this would be his own son's chief competition for the overall title! As I recall, Noah TQ'd the prelims but Bob's son edged him out in the Finals. They spoke on the phone yesterday to exchange congratulations and had a great conversation. They were very grateful for Bob's help, and I LOVE this story of sportsmanship and friendly competition. This is what it's all about, folks.

Great story and outcome for sure. I was the Chief Inspector and there were no plans to take the car a part. The question was how to reduced the weight without damaging the car. Bob was provided the contact information and then was able to get the cars overall weight reduced so very carefully. This was a great outcome, because this was a very well built car. The overall quality of the cars we see at Mid America each and every year is outstanding. We are looking forward to
Mid America 2019 and another great event.

Guess I need to clarify that I wasnt talking about any MA inspectors, but inspectors in general. Not many (if any) race events are as well run as MA and situations like this don't always turn out so well.

I just wanted to give Bob a little nod for the thought and care he took with this particular car because it turned out to be a really cool story in the end.

WoW what a journey this has been the last 4 yours and so glad my son Noah and I was able to watch his last Scout race via the live feed. To see his face was as they say "priceless". A great story with Ballistic Bob on getting the car thru inspection and Bob not knowing this would be their strongest competition down to the wire.
